Class Descriptions
Broadway Babies
Broadway Babies classes are for chlidren age 3 to 5. Classes combine ballet and tap, as well as weekly end-of-class viewing.
Tumble Tots
Tumble Tots classes are preschool introduction classes for children ages 3 to 5. Tumble Tots classes combine ballet and tumbling (acrobatics), as well as weekly end-of-class viewing.
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance technique. It teaches correct posture, body placement, and turnout.
Tap
Tap is a technique which incorporates percussion with dance movement. Students learn timing, agility, speed, and clarity through rhythm-focused tap dancing.
Jazz
Jazz has an exciting, vibrant, and dynamic quality. It focuses on strength through sharp body lines and accents to express the music.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is the combination of dancing, acting, and singing. Students will learn choreography, scenes, and music from Broadway shows and movie musicals.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance combines the dynamics and techniques of ballet and jazz dance.
Acro
Acro class is where students will learn tumbling skills such as cartwheels, handstands, backbends, walkovers, handsprings, etc. Class will emphasize improving flexibility, strength, balance, and technique through tumbling acrobatics.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a fun class that focuses students’ energy with fast-paced movement and choreography from today’s music videos.
Acting
Acting class focuses on a combination of techniques that lead to the creation of real and truthful moments on stage. Improvisation, scene study, and monologues are explored.
Voice
Voice training is offered in small group and private lessons that explore the fundamentals of singing technique. Students learn proper breath support, placement, diction, musicality, and performance skills. Audition prep sessions are available upon request.
Yoga
Yoga is a non-performing class offered for students ages 9+. Classes will explore the fundamentals of a flowing yoga practice including traditional poses, breathing techniques, strength, and flexibility.
Pointe
Pointe is for the mature dancer. It adds the element of dancing on one’s toes to ballet work.
Technique
Technique is a non-performing class requirement for all level 3 students. Classes focus on strength, conditioning, flexibility, and honing advanced dance skills.
